Camping at Whiting Campground

We had planned to go to Soapstone Campground up behind Kamas, but those plans changed as we heard of one child after another drowning or nearly drowning in the swollen and fast running rivers. The upper Provo River runs through Soapstone so we had several very nervous parents.

Last minute searches up American Fork Canyon found Granite Flats full and Timpanooke not open yet. Then Amy suggested Whiting Campground up Maple Canyon. It was perfect! Not too crowded. Water nearby, but not running in a torrent. Lots of shade. Not too hot. Not too cold. We had a great time!

                              We played with the kids

                 Rode bikes...

                          ...and played in the water.

                          Went on a hike.

                          Played with bugs.

And sat around enjoying the company.
