Small World

A  couple of weeks ago I was talking with one of the other ordinance workers and learned that she and her husband had served a family history mission in San Jose, CA. The interesting thing was that she said the church family history centers were staffed and attended mostly by people who were not members of the LDS church. Hummm. Good that they are so interested in learning about their family history, but where are the members who are supposed to be doing this work also?

But, she not only had the San Jose connection to my little sister, but she also has a daughter who is currently living in Claremont, CA.

Then, last night I was talking to another ordinance worker. She, too, grew up in California, though her parents now live in Alpine and live only a few blocks from my house. But, her brother recently returned from the mission that includes Merced and spent some time there. And her grandmother was in our ward in Claremont.

Good grief!! Makes me wonder what connections there will be with the next ordinance worker.

I guess this will happen as long as people move around a lot.
